Overview
The Sasser Group, Ltd isâ€¯currently seeking an Senior full stack Java Developer with experience developing Cloud-native applications using Micro Services. You will be part of a talented software development team supporting our U.S. Air Force customer. Candidates must be open to travel to the client sites when necessary. Java Developers will work as a part of an Agile team performing DevSecOps.

Hiring During the COVID-19 Pandemic:â€¯Due to the current COVID restrictions, this role can be remote.â€¯â€¯Once conditions allow for the corporate office to reopen,â€¯the roleâ€¯will require onsite collaboration. â€¯ Job Specific Details and Tasks:

Responsible for participating in all team ceremonies, including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives in the full Agile application development life cycle for new development, design, and testing of Java Web Applications and Microservices.
Work collaboratively as a full stack developer on Agile teams and have the ability to complete user stories and develop usable code independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization; contributes to acceptance/functional testing duties and part of incremental feature development.
Adheres to, promotes, and maintain development standards and best practices, participates in regular code reviews.
Assists development/test teams in activities with acceptance testing, load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning as required.
Communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders.
Mentor members of development team for adapting tools, techniques, and related processes.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or 10 years’ experience in Software Development
Required Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive Java development experience.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Strong ability to mentor/coach team members as well as experience in influencing senior leadership
Experience leading and working in Agile Team
Experience as a Tech Lead and ability to provide technical guidance in designing and architecting critical software applications
At least 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE and related technologies with solid understanding of design principles
Proficiency with Spring, Hibernate, and JPA.
Proficiency with front-end technologies ReactJS, Bootstrap, and related technologies
Experience with AWS capabilities and development, particularly EC2.
Proficiency with one or more testing tools and frameworks (e.g. Mockito, JUnit, Cucumber, Katalon, Selenium)
Experience with implementing integration solutions with Microservices, RESTful Web Services and Web APIs with Spring Boot and Docker, in Kubernetes or Openshift.
Experience with service orchestration tools and API gateways.
Experience with relational database systems, particularly Oracle and Postgres

Preferred Experience

Knowledge or experience in basic DevOps support and deployment, including tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild and CodeDeploy, Groovy, Maven
Experience in matters related to deployment, building and release process
Experience with Altassian tools: Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Knowledge of PowerBuilder
CSM or related Agile practitioner certification and/or SAFe Agile

Security: Must be able to pass a background investigation with the U.S. Air Force (Public Trust) in order to obtain a CAC card.

Certifications:

CISSP or CSSLP (strongly preferred at time of hire)
CSM or related Agile practitioner certification and/or SAFe Agile (strongly preferred).
